Twitter now lets brands create “custom hearts”, letting users show their appreciation for Periscope live videos.
NBC Universal among first to test new icon
Film promotions have proven an excellent testing ground for users to show their appreciation for content, encouraging fans to generate higher approval ratings.
Brands won’t have carte blanche to design just any logo -different variations will have to be approved and developed in partnership with Twitter.
All you need is love
Twitter’s approach to cooperative heart graphics allows for more control over how larger brands may use, rather than abuse, this new service.
Unique to these icons is the ability for non-Periscope users to see these new designs, even if they are just viewed on Twitter.
With Facebook and Twitch using unique emojis and custom animated emoticons of their own, the trend seems to be set and users are engaging.
Do you use Periscope for your promotions? Let us know how in the Comments.
