A new study predicts that mobile advertising will overtake TV ad spend by 2019.
Mobile moments
Forrester Research has speculated that over the next five years mobile spending will experience 12% annual growth, taking it to over US$103 billion by 2019.
This puts it ahead of TV advertising, which by 2019 is expected to account for US$85 billion.
Digital breakdown
Forrester outlined how it sees digital ad spend looking in 2019.
The company anticipates social media will grow by 18% annually and be worth US$17 billion in five years, while display advertising and search marketing will be worth US$17 billion and US$38 billion respectively.
However Forrester's predictions are considered conservative by some.
According to reports from Magna Global digital will leapfrog TV by 2017.
