At its recent Brandcast event, YouTube released a bunch of juicy new stats about the platform.

Square eyes
US users aged 18 – 49 years now spend more time viewing YouTube, than watching the top 10 broadcast TV shows combined.
YouTube says that brands who advertise on YouTube during prime time connect with 56% more of this group, compared to those that advertise on TV.
In 2015 the number of hours users spent watching YouTube on TV screens doubled.
Teen dreams
Networks and movies are so passé. Today for US teens, eight of the 10 most influential celebrities are YouTube stars.
In addition, last year 800 YouTube creators passed the 1 million subscriber mark.
And over 60% of YouTube subscribers report their perception of a brand or company has been impacted by a YouTube content creator.
