Look out world: a brand new Snapchat lens will allow users to interact via voice command.
Fun time
A series of lenses will now animate when users speak simple words such as “yes,” “no,” “wow,” “hi,” and even “love” when engaging the new voice-sensitive filters.
True to form, some lenses will also respond to actions and facial movements, but now saying “hi” will commence a preloaded animation of chatty birds.
It’s rumoured “love” will trigger cheesy romantic music, “yes” will be accompanied by dramatic zoom, “no” with a tunnel effect, and “wow” will surround the user with comic-style wows.
Tech novelty still strong
Users are still enjoying the filter fun of Snapchat lenses, continually pushing the bar in taking advantage of camera technology and augmented reality features.
The new audio-triggered lenses are expected to rollout in a batch of five, with more sophisticated iterations down the track.
Lenses remain on of Snapchat's most popular features, and points of difference. Stay tuned to see if Snapchat can keep jazzing them up enough to keep users away from Facebook and family.
