Snapchat has partnered with popular GIF platform Giphy to enable users to peruse their archive and add animated stickers to snap, all in-app.
Swift and nifty Giphy
Snapchat’s new partnership follows a similar feature already available through Messenger, capitalising on the popularity of adding flare to text with Giphy.
To access the new function, all users need to do is tap the sticker icon located near the top-right of the screen after they’ve taken a photo. They may then comb a library of unique stickers from across the net.
GIFs can be searched manually at the leisure of users while also gaining access to stickers designed specifically by the Snapchat team.
Customise your GIFs
Users will also be able to add multiple stickers to a single post, resize and position each GIF according to one’s own desire.
And that’s not all. A spokesperson for Snapchat also stated new tabs will soon be added to Snapchat Friends and Discover sections, making it easier to suss out group chats, stories, and Discovery subscriptions.
As Snapchat continues their aggressive campaign to engage users and remain relevant, (and detracting from Facebook users), the me-too approach of partnering with Giphy is a move that’s sure to stick(er).
