Oscar Wilde once mused that fashion is such a fickle enterprise, it needs to be reinvented every six months.
That may be so, but it doesn’t stop Instagram from being the fashionista’s favourite, according to new research from Facebook.
Strike a #Pose
Ahead of London and Paris Fashion Weeks, Facebook has released a report into how fashion brands are winning using the platform.
Over the past three months, 42 million users had 283 million interactions relating to the Fashion Weeks in New York, Paris, Milan, and London.
This is up from 25 million users and 140 million interactions in February 2015.
Dress for Success
Facebook revealed that fashion lovers in Europe and the UK check their feed an average of 15 times a day, seven days a week.
Significantly, 75% of followers of luxury and high-end fashion brands are aged under 34 years.
Takeaways
Facebook concludes that the best way to harness this audience is through mobile ads.
It says over one third of users have purchased a fashion item discovered on Instagram.
While over half (58%) of website conversion campaigns on Instagram experience a lift in online sales.
