The numbers are in: teens continue flocking to Snapchat – at the expense of stalwarts Facebook and Instagram.
Numbers game
The Taking Stock with Teens report from Piper Jaffray quizzed 10,000 US teens about their social usage and preferences.
The report found 80% of teens use Snapchat monthly. This is up from 74% last year.
Conversely, 79% of teens use Instagram monthly, an increase of 3% since 2015.
Facechat
However the most telling figure here is Facebook. According to the study just 52% of respondents use Facebook monthly. This is down from 56% in 2015.
The rest of the pack didn't fair that well either. Less than 50% of 14 year-olds use Twitter monthly, while 25% of teens visit Pinterest every 30 days.
A slender 22% login to Google+ every month.
