Want to know what the most important digital marketing channels are for SMEs at the moment?
A new study from Drip has the answer, and a few more tidbits to boot.
Information Superhighway
The 2017 Small Business Marketing Conversion Report surveyed over 1000 owners and managers of SMEs across the US.
The crown for digital channel dominance was close: 71% of businesses surveyed favoured websites for marketing, while 68% relied on social media.
Digital ads came in third (27.7%), followed by Offline ads (26.4%), Landing Pages (23.2%), and Blogs (21.9%).
Drip Fed
However, these numbers aren’t necessarily converting into marketing dollars. Less than a third of respondents are currently spending money on digital advertising.
Drip found this is due to a number of factors, including time and cost. Those that do their own marketing typically dedicate less than two hours per week to the process.
However the tide may be changing: the report found half of respondents intend to invest in digital marketing this year, if they can see clear conversion-orientated goals.
What’s your preferred digital channel for marketing? Or does it depend on the brief?
