Instagram is one of the most accessible, arguably the most fun, platforms to play with at the moment.
Aside from sky-high engagement and a small learning curve, Instagram is gradually rolling out ads and becoming an important space for brands.
Here are three easy ways marketers can get in the picture on Instagram today.
1. Image is everything
It's all well and good to post beautiful images, but there's no point if your Instagram profile isn't complete.
Make sure your Instagram account includes contact details, company overview and website links.
Resist the urge to cut and paste your bio from Facebook or Twitter – consider your audience and tweak where appropriate.
Also, don't forget to promote your Instagram account through your other social media platforms, and be sure to include an Instagram badge on your website.
2. Get creative
Instagram is all about creativity, so make sure you think a little left-of-centre in your posts.
Don't rely on static shots of your product in a studio. Consider running a competition asking users to take pictures of your product, tagging your account and using a relevant hashtag.
Another easy win is giving customers a glimpse into another side of your brand. Everyone loves a good sticky beak, and behind-the-scenes pictures are a great way to boost engagement.
3. #Hashtags
Instagram comes a close second to Twitter when it comes to the importance of hashtags.
Have a look at what hashtags are currently popular on Instagram and consider creating content around this.
While you don't want to overdo it the most hashtags you use, the more likely your content is to be discovered.
