Released last summer, Uber Central is stepping out of the beta and bringing multiple car services for businesses and their clients.
Super dashboard key to Uber Central
A new feature for Uber tablet apps is the addition of a dashboard within Uber for Business, allowing for one user to play role of dispatcher, coordinating multiple cars with varying pickup and drop-offs.
Event organisers, bed and breakfast owners, and any other entrepreneur has access to a fleet of Uber drivers at the touch of a button.
Every ride is coordinated through one account, leaving the rider to simply get in and get out, just like any other professional car service.
Makeshift motor pool the way of the future
Uber is making things even easier for passengers by providing SMS messaging of key information, such as vehicle make, plate number, and driver’s name. “Drafts” of preferred routes can even be archived for future coordination.
Is this a trend that will replace the hallowed limousine pickup? Its hard to say, as presentation is a part of big business, we’ll be watching to see which larger companies opt for the shift towards this new ad hoc service.
