Recently leaked stats show sgrowth in Snapchat Stories has halted, while Instagram Stories continues to grow.
What is the Story?
Snapchat is finding itself at a loss of momentum and learning it's difficult to recruit new talent amidst the recent slump in avenue growth.
According to Taylor Lorenz of the Daily Beast, Snapchat’s Snap Map search feature has fallen to 19 million from a previous high of 35 million daily unique viewers.
Meanwhile, the Discover section of Snapchat’s publisher friendly dailies has petered out to around 34 million, down from 38 million last July.
Is there a happily ever after?
Following the data, daily Snaps have risen from 3.9 billion to 4.6 billion. Meanwhile, unique viewers only grew 4.37% which is significantly slower than in recent quarters.
Messaging has cemented itself as the app's current most popular feature, which unfortunately detracts from advertisement opportunity.
It’s possible that Snapchat has plateaued, unless it can bolster stronger revenue through their sponsored AR Lenses and Geofilters. It seems just like so many Snaps, nothing is permanent.
