You can follow everything from dapper dogs to bread face blogs on Instagram.
If that’s not enough, you may soon be able to follow hashtags.
#Trending
In an update that's many a marketers’ digital dream, canny user @Social.pip has spotted a beta test inviting ‘Grammers to follow hashtags.
While Instagram’s keeping mum about details, it appears you can elect to follow as many hashtags as you like, or can handle.
Making a hash?
If it eventually rolls out, the feature could be useful for users and brands alike. Users could easily follow stuff that interests them, and brands would have another tool to track trending content.
It could also help when you want multiple sources of information around one topic, or are looking to delve into something a little more niche.
The great hashtag experiment remains veiled in secrecy for now. Perhaps when we reconvene in the New Year there will be more #info.
Would you follow hashtags on Instagram? Let us know why, or why not, in the comments.
