YouTube has launched an incredible video production deal for businesses across the USA. It’s branded Director onsite.
If an advertiser spends at least $350 on YouTube advertising, the service will plan, shoot and upload a 30 second promo spot for them. Free.
Steps to a $350 YouTube promo
After clicking ‘Book Shoot’ at director.youtube.com/onsite/#, a business can will get a call from a YouTube approved filmmaker. They’ll discuss the enterprise and work up a script.
Later, they’ll visit the business for an on-location shoot. After a professional edit, a YouTube tech takes care of upload to the business’ own channel and helps set up the campaign to get good value for the $350 expenditure.
Value video
YouTube are promoting this as ‘a high-quality video ad but without all the cost’. The Keyword blog notes that such a video production would typically cost thousands of dollars, so the savings are extraordinary.
Even if it’s a once-per-customer deal, the offer has wow factor.
US only, so far
It bears repeating: this is currently only available in select US cities. Select cities started off as just nine, but is now 170 locations.
Maybe if Google can leverage a similar content-maker network in Australia, Director onsite might make it here.
Would you trust your brand to a video maker who produces 30 second spots for $350, end-to-end?
