Ever wondered which companies are top of pops at the moment? Wonder no more – LinkedIn's Top Companies List 2017 has been unveiled.
Cue drumroll…
And the winner is…
To pick the winners, LinkedIn looked at the most-sought after companies among its 500 million members, apparently based on billions of actions.
The winners (incidentally occurring in alphabetical nature) are Alphabet, Amazon, Facebook, and Salesforce.
Alphabet soup
What makes these companies so popular with job seekers? LinkedIn says three recurring trends: the first day counts, work-life balance, and creative job titles.
For example, new employees at Square get to meet CEO Jack Dorsey on day one, and even ask him a question. Starbucks starts new recruits with a coffee tasting, while Airbnb works trips to non-profits into its induction.
When it comes to work-life balance, 9 – 5 is so passé. Twitter doesn't even track holiday days anymore, while Edelman gives an "Escape" program to select employees, which includes $1500 and a week off.
Get creative
Finally, it turns out job seekers really want a creative job title.
Choice employees at Alphabet go by the title 'Jolly Good Fellow', while other lateral handles include Chief Storyteller, People Scientist, and Animal Caretaker.
