Amazon has released Chime, a new communications app bringing secure group video conferencing and content sharing to any device.
Please shush, we’re working here
Along with digital workspace standards, like video chat and file sharing, comes the ability to mute fellow meeting participants. Moderators or individuals need only open the handy side-roster and click.
What may be most impressive is Chime’s ability to collaborate with existing conference equipment as well as any smart device, offering the ability to participate via phone call, no log in required.
The app also seamlessly integrates with in-room conference systems, fully encrypted, with no meta-data stored.
Three notes to this Chime
Amazon will be offering three tiers of Chime in the form of Basic, Plus, and Pro.
Each will offer one-on-one voice, video, and chat. Chime Plus will boast screen sharing and identity management with Pro allowing meetings of up to 100 users.
Amazon is looking to integrate with Level 3 Communications and Vonage in future expansions as well, possibly making Chime one of the most versatile project management systems on the market.
