Better late than never, right? While Messenger has a lot of skin in the game when it comes to business customers, now Apple is playing catch up.
But is it too late?
Pay Day
Apple is developing a service with enterprise capabilities for iMessage, it’s called Business Chat.
Business Chat will be baked deep into iOS and work with Apple’s native apps.
It will work across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, with features including the ability to answer customer queries, and process transactions.

Apple has a bit of ground to make up here. Facebook has been tweaking its business outreach for years via Messenger, and increasingly Instagram. While Twitter continues to improve its customer service tools.
Still, there are plenty of Apple fans out there. If Apple can keep them within its eco-system, it might be able to take a chunk out of Facebook and Twitter’s dominance.
Business Chat is expected to be released with iOS 11 later this year.
