Apple, Google, and Amazon have been named the most profitable companies in the world, and it’s a first.
Seasons change
For the first time, Facebook is not among the top valued global brands, which could spell a new climate for social digital media.
Interbrand's Best Global Brand report reveals Apple’s dominance at $214 billion, the first ever company with a trillion dollar total value.
Both Google and Apple have been trading off the number one spot for the past six years.
The brand forecast
Amazon has been soaring up the ranks while other companies still drive for the top 100 spot, including big names like Tesla, Thomson Reuters, and Smirnoff.
Among the rising stars are streaming services Netflix and Spotify. This is the first year one of the FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google) stocks have failed to rank.
At this level of competition, the top ten spots are all a matter of billions and nothing to scoff at but it is telling that Facebook has made its smallest splash in six years.
What do you think it means that Facebook dropped from the top spot? Could this be an outlier or a prediction of times to come? Let us know in the comments below.
