Facebook is currently testing a new format that presents ads to a small group of Marketplace users in the US.
Facebook feeds adverts
The new initiative of bringing ads to marketplace will be in News Feed format that users are already familiar with, in order to foster a frictionless adoption.
Clicking on an ad will bring users to the applicable landing page, where they can purchase the specific service or product from the advert.
Buy, sell, and browse
Launched in October of 2016, Facebook Marketplace is designed for users to buy and sell personal items, focused on nearby products.
Trying to take a bite out of eBay and Gumtree-style listings, Marketplace has already seen 18 million items posted, and lead to a 77% growth in conversations between buyers and sellers.
Have you used Marketplace? What’s your impression and would you benefit from commercial adverts? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
