Hire is Google’s new recruitment solution, targeting small-to-medium enterprise with the promise of better recruitment.
Customisable recruitment processes
Hire promises end-to-end process management, with the potential to modify the basic template to suit each situation.
It accommodates interviews, practical tests, presentations and more, with customisable scoring scales too.
Automation, inwards and out
Hire is designed to integrate with online job boards, but the brands they’re partnered with so far are all US-specific: we might have to wait and see how it pans out in Australasia.
Notably, Hire will optimise listings for appearance in Google Search, which is something we discussed a little while back.
Hire also simplifies candidate vetting by automatically searching and presenting links to online sources like LinkedIn, GitHub and Behance.
G Suite integration and candidate nurturing
Hire makes use of many of G Suites existing features, integrating intuitively with Gmail and Calendar and exporting data to Sheets.
Hire also boast a Candidate Nurturing, to encourage ongoing connections with interviewees who almost made the cut.
This includes reminders for future contacts, and a searchable database for easy reference.
Upshot and evaluation
Hire seems to organise existing G Suite capability into a task flow that is well customised to suit recruitment. It’s nothing ground-breaking, but it looks convenient.
Would Hire simplify your recruitment, or is it yet another tool you won’t be using?
