A few months ago Facebook re-embraced the GIF and allowed users to add them to their Pages.
Now Facebook is trialling the feature with brand posts.
GIF-erent approach
A select groups of brands including Coca-Cola, BuzzFeed and Wendy’s are now able to share GIFs in posts and paid “Boosted” posts.
At the time of writing GIF support does not extend to sidebar ads.
Move ‘n’ shake
While the feature is still being tested, GIFs continue to be a hit with millennials on Tumblr and Vine.
GIF support could allow brands to re-purpose Facebook videos and potentially get more bang for their buck.
