Dropbox has released a set of Productivity Tools designed to make scanning on-the-go more streamlined.
Drop the ball
The first update is around simplifying workflows. This means you can now scan content such as receipts, whiteboards, and sketches directly from the Dropbox app. Business users can also search within these scans.
Dropbox also sports a new "plus" button that lets you create Microsoft Office docs on mobile, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
In addition, there's an improved photo management feature for desktop Dropbox users.
Unified Workspace
The next set of tools are designed to create a unified workspace.
This means you can share files from the desktop simply by right-clicking on the folder. This negates the need to redirect to web, or copy the link to your email.
Dropbox also lets you add comments to specific parts of a file. For example, highlighting a piece of text, or an image.
Data Security
Finally, Dropbox has added two new tools dealing with data security.
The preview prior file versions allows you to restore files that have been updated or deleted.
Sharing functions have also been beefed up. You can now share a single file with specific users, and create view-only access for shared folders, giving you more control over who can access your data.
