Number Crunch: Infographics

Let's face it: everyone likes good juicy stats, but we like them even more when they're delivered in something sexier than a spreadsheet.

Hence the popularity of infographics, one of the best ways to succinctly deliver a tonne of information without sending your audience to sleep.

With that in mind, here are some compelling reasons you might want to consider creating your own infographic, courtesy of Unbounce

Image uplift

Images are the keys of the infographic's success, by making large amounts of complex data easier to digest.

Today the average internet user is exposed to 174 newspapers worth of information every day.

Most of this information is automatically filtered out, but data with images has a better cut through.

Studies show that 65 per cent of people are visual learners, meaning images are processed 60,000 times faster by the brain than text. In addition, 40 per cent of people will recall an image more than plain text.

Google growth

The public appetite for infographics over the past two years has skyrocketed, increasing by over 800 per cent.

There are currently 13 billion listings for infographics on Google.

Content marketing

Finally, aside from looking pretty, infographics also increase web traffic.

Publishers who use infographics see a boost of 12 per cent in traffic.
