Twitter looks to deliver more customised content

Twitter has acquired news curation platform Summify, in a move that signals the micro-blogging service is looking to provide more customised content to users.

All the news that’s fit to tweet

Vancouver-based Summify works by identifying important news stories across its users networks, based on their reading habits and those of their friends. A summary of the most significant stories is then delivered via email or its iPhone app.

Summify has posted over 2 billon aggregated stories to date, and Twitter has taken notice.

Breaking through the noise

Twitter recently added a new suite of features including the Discover tab, and by acquiring Summify will be aiming to make its own user experience more customised.

That means those wanting to block out the latest updates on Kim Kardashian’s every movement may now be able to.

The focus of Twitter on tailored content together with Google+ results now appearing in Google search results makes the necessity for quality, shareable content even greater. The more users are 'talking about' a brand's collatoral, the more likely it is for the collatorial ot be discovered.
