According to a new study from PageLever, one in five Facebook fans now come from mobile.
Out and about
The study looked at 500 Facebook Pages with over 100,000 fans.
It found that 19 per cent of new Facebook fans came from mobile devices in August, a massive increase of 280 per cent over four months.
When PageLever conducted a similar study in May it found only 5 per cent of new fans came from mobile.
Leaving the desktop
Facebook is increasingly focusing on its mobile offering. This week it released a new mobile ad unit for developers, and announced it was expanding its mobile security efforts.
For brands, these figures show that customers must increasingly be engaged away from the desktop. A recent study from Google showed consumers were more likely to purchase from brands which had a mobile optimised website.
