Now jumping between languages is easier than ever as Facebook brings its popular feature “suggestions from M” to Messenger.
F8 reveal
As suggestions from M continues to test positively, Facebook is making good on promises to export the new tool for translation on other platforms.
At the latest F8 conference, Facebook announced that the translation feature would be extended to their network’s Marketplace commerce section.
So far the translator seems to have transferred well, as Facebook announced the addition of English to Spanish and vice versa for US and Mexico users.
How it works
When a Messenger user receives a message in a foreign language, the app will offer a potential translation.
When a user decides to go with a translated message, they will be prompted to turn on auto-translation, meaning future incoming messages won't require the obligatory permission.
The ability to translate is getting sharper with AI assisted programing and better tools in general, which makes this move a natural stepping stone for Facebook.
Are you surprised adding of translations to other apps and platforms? Have you used suggestions from M? Let us know in the comments below.
