Cloud service Box has recently launched a desktop app, with brands firmly in its sights. They’re calling it Box Drive.
Inside the Box
While still in beta, Box Drive brings pretty much pulls in all the functionality of Box's mobile app.
This includes collaboration tools, multiple device support, auto-syncing, and all the other stuff you’d expect from a cloud provider these days.
However Box Drive has a sweet point of difference aimed at larger brands: top line security.
Lock and load
This means data is backed up in compliance with data retention policies from HIPAA, FINRA, and FedRAMP.
Sure, the casual user may need Fort Knox-style security when backing up those holiday snaps, but larger brands with sensitive data could be swayed by Box’s beefed-up security credentials.
