Today eBay is launching a sleek new homepage that has clearly taken a few design cues from Pinterest.
The refresh comes hot on the heels of eBay's latest major redesign last October.
The personal touch
Sporting an image-rich layout, the new homepage can be customised to reflect user preferences.
For example, users can enter their interests, such as reading or basketball, and eBay will populate the homepage feed with relevant items, searches and trends.
Buying and selling is not forgotten, with auctions now featuring real time updates.
For the moment the new design is for desktop only, but is expected to roll out to mobile later this year.
Retail therapy
The move comes as eBay faces stiff competition from Amazon and an increasingly retail-focused Facebook.
eBay will be hoping its personalised, very pretty looking homepage will keep it one step ahead of the Joneses.
