Facebook adds “Explore Feed” to App

Facebook is developing a new kind of News Feed bringing the top posts, suggested for you, from across all of Facebook on its primary app.

They know what you like

The new Feed will provide content from beyond posts of just your family and friends. Under the “More” menu, users can quickly view what Facebook has culminated and tailored just for them.

The popular social network has explained users have long requested an easier way to explore new content they haven’t yet connected with.

The new feature will allow users to connect more efficiently with Facebook’s broader network of photos, articles, posts, and videos not yet discovered.

Analysed and suggested just for you

Facebook’s Explore Feed algorithm will incorporate your specific tastes along with what is currently popular with friends, taking into account new trends being made popular among your network.

The social media giant has been experimenting with suggested feeds as early as 2014 with a failed app called Rooms, meant to connect users over shared interests even if they weren’t yet friends.

Striving to match interests, political views, and media, just to name a few, the Explore Feed has been testing well and likely to be rolled out on a larger scale.

What are your thoughts on suggested content? Have you tried the new Explore Feed? Give us your feedback in the comments below.
