Continuing its push into more intimate virtual spaces, Facebook is nearing their next run of hardware products.
Behold, a new quest
Yes, Facebook has announced the the Oculus Quest Virtual Reality, which will now include a pair of wireless controllers as well.
Mark Zuckerberg’s hope was to have 1 billion users engaging through Facebook’s virtual spaces when he purchased Oculus four years ago.
Facebook has yet to reach even 1% of its goal, but doesn't seem daunted.
Less steam in the boiler?
Recent reports show that roughly 10 million consumers have jumped onto the Oculus bandwagon, which is small to Facebook but impressive for the tech.
Even with the slow in VR momentum, shipments are expected to rise 31% in 2018. Meanwhile, VR is drawing major investments from heavyweight backers like Apple, Google, Samsung, and Microsoft.
Between the Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, and the new Oculus Quest, there might be enough variety to really start driving sales. If the pricey gamble pays off, Facebook will be positioned at the top of a burgeoning industry. Is your brand VR-ready?
