LinkedIn: Most Promising Jobs 2018

Hold onto your hats: LinkedIn has released data on the most promising jobs and in-demand skills of 2018.

Position Vacant

The good news is that you don't need to be a tech head to get ahead. LinkedIn surveyed 2000 business leaders, and over half (57%) said soft skills are more important than hard skills.

The most in-demand soft skills currently are leadership, communication, collaboration, and time management.

On the flip side, the most desirable hard skills are Cloud and Distributed Computing, Statistical Analysis and Data Mining, and Middleware and Integration Software.

Lead On

In terms of actual jobs, LinkedIn reckons Engagement Lead is top of the pack. This position has seen job openings grow by a staggering 425% year-on-year.

Coming in second place is Software Engineering Manager (38% YoY growth), followed by Customer Service Manager.

Other highlights on the top ten list include Sales Director (#5), Program Manager (#7), and Data Scientist (#9). Is your position on the list?
