SMK’s app of the week: Skype Qik

Are you a fan of Skype but looking to add a bit of personality to your video calls?

Skype Qik might be what you're looking for.

Jazz hands

Skype Qik is an official Skype app that lets you jazz up mobile video calls with text, music and photos.

Qik lets you record videos directly on your phone, then add extra content from your camera roll or the net.

Lights, camera, action

You can also create groups from the contacts on your phone and send messages privately, similar to Snapchat.

Once shared, videos can be commented on or edited with video reactions from viewers. 

Safety features

As a safety net, any video message you've sent can be deleted from your phone, which will in turn delete the message from the phone of every recipient.

All message are deleted automatically after two weeks.

While it might not change the way you do business, Qik is a pretty fun way to keep in touch with your contacts.
