Twitter has just unveiled a new feature that allows TweetDeck users to create custom timelines around hashtags and topics.
Timely measure
The feature essentially lets users set up timelines around virtually anything – from breaking news to a trending phrase or event.
Each timeline is public and will have its own page on twitter.com, meaning it can be easily discovered and shared in real time. Custom timelines can also be embedded on websites.
Twitter used the examples of Carson Daly, host of The Voice, using a custom timeline as a live companion to his TV show; and POLITICO hosting the best Tweets from policy industry experts in a Tweet Hub.
Curated content
The update will be good for brands looking to create a dedicated content space about products and events that won't be lost in the 400 million odd tweets that are generated every day.
And a boon for users looking for more tailored tweets.
Custom timelines are now available from TweetDeck. To find out more visit twitter.com/blog.
