The long-awaited WhatsApp for Business has finally launched, and it’s looking pretty jazzy.
What’s Up?
The app is aimed at SMEs, and lets marketers create business-specific WhatsApp profiles. These will feature a business description, category, contact details, operation hours, and website links.
There are also new Messaging Tools, including quick replies to FAQs, greeting messages, and Out of Office replies.
You also have access to basic analytics, showing data such as how many messages have been sent, received, and read.
WhatsApp’s version of verified profiles, dubbed “Confirmed Accounts”, are also on the way.
Message for Money
At launch WhatsApp for Business is only available on Android in the US, UK, Italy, Mexico, and Indonesia. An iOS version and global rollout is expected in the coming weeks.
While the functionality is pretty basic to begin with, WhatsApp for Business could well provide a new way to connect with the app’s 1.3 billion global users. Would you use it?
