Pinterest has released a bunch of new adverting Pins. Here's what you need to know.
Pinning pays
There are three new Promoted Pins: one-tap, video, and app.
Tapping a one-tap Pin takes users from their feed directly to your website, so they can learn more about products. Pinterest says so far twice as many Pinners are finding items via these new Pins.
Alas, one-tap Pins are only available to select businesses for now.
Video Pins
Video Pins are essentially embedded videos, meaning you can watch the entire clip on Pinterest without being redirected to another site. This should make for a more seamless viewing experience.
Viewers will also be able to purchase items featured in the video.
Finally, App Pins are designed to let users discover more about apps, and the app-makers they're most interested in. These Pins link directly to your store so apps can be downloaded immediately.
Brave New World
Until now Promoted Pins were only available in the US. Now they're branching out to UK users, with a broader global rollout promised by Pinterest soon.
