Instagram is close to launching a new feature that allows users to make purchases from within the app.
Shopaholics
Shoppable product tags allow brands to tag up to five items in their Instagram posts.
Clicking on the tag will direct users to a unique product page with detailed information about the item – and a Shop Now link that leads to the retailer's storefront.
Baby steps
Instagram is trialling the system with 20 brands in the US, including Kate Spade and JackThreads.
At the moment Shoppable product tags is only available to iOS users in the US, but expect a wider rollout in the coming months.
And a lot more products coming to your feed soon.
