First there was mobile. Then there was video and live streaming.
Now Facebook is turning its gaze towards television.

Facebook is reportedly working on developing a TV app for streaming set-top boxes.
The app would work with Apple TV, and is being seen as a way to woo Facebook users into longer form videos. And presumably open Facebook up to more lucrative TV ad budgets.
Movie mogul?
The app comes as Facebook is looking to fund and produce original video content, a la Netflix. The social network also recently tweaked its News Feed to favour longer form videos.
While the app is still away off, it could potentially heat up Facebook's rivalry with YouTube, while seeing the social behemoth go head-to-head with heavy hitters Netflix and Amazon.
Now that would make a great movie.
