Spotify has just announced that it's moving beyond music to embrace online video.
Music videos
The music-streaming giant announced the news in New York last week.
Spotify is partnering with content creators including Vice News, Nerdist and Comedy Central to deliver video content along with music and podcasts for its updated app.
Streaming smack down
Spotify says it will soon begin producing exclusive video content in the coming months, which will be primarily music-themed for its 60 million subscribers.
If it takes off it might take some eyeballs away from YouTube's recently launched Music Key Subscription Service. While Apple is also planning to launch a new music streaming platform in June.
Stay tuned. And tuned in.
