Story curation platform Storify has unveiled a new design that focuses on search, content discovery and sharing.
Telling a story
Storify, which allows users to curate narratives around topics using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, now makes it easier to discover content shared by other Storify users.
A new search bar prominently placed in the centre of the page lets users see the most popular posts, tweets, videos or images relating to their query.
Trending topics also appear below the search bar. Currently the four most popular search terms are Gaza, Thanksgiving, Sandy and Fiscal Cliff.
New profiles
The new look Storify also allows users to personalise their page by adding a profile image, similar to that used on Facebook Timeline.
Moving beyond Twitter
Despite the new look, Storify remains reliant on other platforms to keep its content current.
Of particular concern is Twitter, which is busy developing its own curated content offerings and recently updated its API rules to clamp down on what third-parties can post from the micro-blogging platform.
However, until that time the new look Storify can help users discover quality stories, while making it easier for brands to share their content with new audiences.
