Facebook’s Watch Party is expanding its offerings to foster conversation, reactions, and a bit of community viewing.
Come together (online)
Watch Party is now being offered to all groups, as well as individual friends with Watch Parties specifically for Pages.
The focus of Watch Party isn’t just for watching movies, the service lends itself to learning new workout routines, musical skills, and any other sort of practiced hobby.
And there’s no shortage of hobby groups taking advantage, such as The Dogspotting Society Group, KARD (a popular K-Pop group that watched a movie with their fans), and much more.
Features of note
Facebook has added co-hosting to Watch Party which allows other users to keep the good times rolling if the main host needs to step away. Crowdsourcing lets users recommend the next movie to watch.
To celebrate the global launch, Facebook lined up two full days of binge worthy Watch Parties, such as Buzzfeed’s Tasty Group, Physician Moms Group, Outdoor Afro, and Fitness Sisters, just to name a few.
Stay tuned for news on an APAC launch of Watch Party. Are you ready?
