Instagram wants to make it easier for consumers to reach out to businesses with the messaging they’re familiar with.
(Insta)mail
Similar to email, the new tool will incorporate filtered messaging through Instagram that allows brands to communicate with customers more effectively.
Soon brands will also be able to provide quick reply responses to common questions such as customer service number information and store locations.
For small and mid-sized businesses, Instagram can be a company’s sole CMO but without messaging would miss potential sales.
Going live
Without one-on-one interaction, a business’ Instagram account serves as little more than a store front or window display.
The plan is for users to transition from being lookers to buyers, learning about new brands, or start a conversation through message.
Thanks to partnerships with Eventbrite, Fandango, Yelp, and soon Open Table, Vagaro, and Square Appointments, users will be able to choose from the drop down menu in the business account’s bio section. It's time to start booking.
What do you think about direct messaging with brands? What are your thoughts on bookings without leaving the app? Let us know in the comments below.
