While live video streaming has been hot property for some time now, catching up on all these ephemeral streams has been a challenge.
This dilemma might soon be solved for video junkies, thanks to a new update from Periscope.
Long Play
Periscope is reportedly working on a feature that would let users permanently save their streams.
Adding a hashtag into the title of your stream will apparently save the clip within the app indefinitely.
Live in the moment, just later
At the moment, Periscope streams can only be saved for up to 24 hours.
You do have the option of saving the stream to your mobile device, but to broadcast the stream must be re-uploaded to a hosting site such as YouTube.
Periscope could streamline this clunky process, and potentially make it easier for brands to get more mileage out of transitory streams.
Stream dream
The feature will also bring Periscope up to speed with Facebook Live, which currently saves streams to your timeline.
With live video now amongst the most engaging content on Facebook, expect more features from Periscope and Meerkat as the stream wars heat up.
