SMK’s app of the week: Encode

As the days become shorter and the weather cools, you'll probably be spending more time indoors.

Encode is an Android app that introduces non-techheads to the delicate art of coding.

The app takes you through the basics of programming, including insights into the previously mystical worlds of strings, booleans, and variables.

Luddite-friendly

The good news is you don't have to have a PhD in nerdism to get something out of Encode.

The app uses JavaScript and takes you through a series of lessons and exercises to get you up to speed. It also offers feedback and advice before progressing to more advanced levels.

Encode also works offline and is compatible with tablets.
