Top three video apps

If an image says a thousand words, then it stands to reason a video must tell few more. New data shows video is the most shared content on Facebook, while more than 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute. 

So how can your brand benefit from online video? One way is through these free apps that are as easy to use as lights, camera, action.

YouTube Capture

Capture is YouTube's official video-editing app and contains a range of easy-to-use features. Capture lets you shoot and edit videos directly from your smartphone or tablet in high definition and includes colour correction, image stabilisation and music tracks. 

Once your masterpiece is complete Capture lets you instantly upload and share on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Google+. 

Vine

Vine is the Twitter's mobile video app of choice, and recently surpassed Instagram on Twitter for the most number of shares.

Vine has limitations – videos must be six seconds or less in length and looped. However, limitations can ignite creativity and early Vine adopters users as Simon and Schuster and OneNine Design have profited from the medium.

Cute CUT

If you're looking to add some movie magic to your video, Cute CUT is a great place to start.

This app has many features included in professional editing software, but the intuitive interface is based on touch and the 'drag and drop' principle. This means everyone from beginners to experts are able to jump in and start splicing.

Features include transitions and over 30 tools to customise elements such as texture, sound volume and gradient. Plus the very post-modern ability to insert an existing video in the video you're editing.
