Twitter rolls out free analytics dashboard

As Twitter increasingly woos advertisers, it's also increasing the ways brands can measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

The latest update comes in the form of a free analytics dashboard that gives insights into the performance of a tweet.

Mix and measure

The analytics dashboard displays data via a timeline graph.

Information shown includes the number of mentions, follows and unfollows a user has experienced over the past month. Additional metrics include how many Favourites, Retweets and Replies each tweet has received.

The data can be downloaded in a CSV file for later analysis.

Bringing it back home

Twitter analytics have long been available from third-party clients, and Twitter recently launched a custom dashboard for larger brands.

By launching a free analytics service for all users Twitter is not only providing a new way for everyone to measure the reach of their tweets, it might convert some into advertisers.

To start using the new dashboard go to ads.twitter.com, sign in with your Twitter account and click the “Analytics” link at the top of the page.
