To celebrate Facebook turning 10 there's been all sorts of articles, videos and bits and bobs celebrating the occasion.
But one of the most interesting is a recent study exploring the different reasons men and women use Facebook.
Photo finish
According to data from Pew Research, rich content is the biggest drawcard for women. Over half (54 pre cent) of female respondents said they use Facebook to view photos and videos.
Networking
Men, on the other hand, use Facebook for networking. Close to half of the men surveyed (42 per cent) admitted they used Facebook to share content with a wide audience.
Other preferred past times on Facebook included g funny posts, following news and using the platform as a support network.
Pew interviewed 1801 adults for the survey.
