Google has just released an update for its iOS app geared for speedier load-times and quicker keyboard shortcuts.
Less is more
Google’s iOS app now supports fast-loading Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), meaning news items will load instantly.
Google Local Search also gets a boost.
You can now see the busiest hours for local places and businesses directly from the Search results page. Previously, you needed to dig deeper to get this info.
Key to success
The update also has a sweetener for iPad junkies. Those using a keyboard with the app can access keyboard shortcuts.
The app also runs 10% faster than previous versions. To put this in perspective, Google says this speed bump will save its app users 6.5 million hours this year alone.
