Google has just launched Spaces, an app designed to give users its most powerful tools to communicate.
Gimme some Space
Spaces works like this: you create a 'Space' around a specific topic, then invite your friends to have a chat about it. People can be invited through other messaging apps, contacts, and social media.
Sounds basic enough. However Spaces integrates YouTube, Search and Chrome directly into its structure, meaning no more fiddling, cutting, and pasting between apps.
With Spaces, anything from upcoming trips to discussions on last night's Game of Thrones could become more animated.
Talk it up
Spaces also dabbles in direct messaging territory, featuring a viewing option that shows what your friends are currently discussing.
While no-one's talking much about Google+ anymore, Spaces is a sign Google still wants to be part of the social, not just searchable, aspects of our lives.
Spaces is now available for iOS and Android. To get spaced out visit get.google.com/spaces.
