Like a fine wine, Instagram is improving (or at least expanding), with age.
The plucky platform now has 700 million users.
Lots of Hearts
The milestone marks a remarkable ascent for Instagram, doubling its user base in just two years. Indeed, the last 100 million users were added since December 2016.
To put that in perspective, Instagram took 28 months to reach its first 100 million back in 2013.
Giant steps
The Instagram army is now twice the size of Twitter, and 200 million ahead of LinkedIn.
It also puts Instagram in healthy stead as it approaches the lofty heights of the billion club, currently occupied by the likes of Facebook, YouTube, and Messenger.
Snap to it
Largely fuelled by the success of Stories, Instagram's success has come at Snapchat's expense. Snapchat saw its growth plummet 82% since Instagram launched Stories last August.
That feature now has 200 million Instagrammers hooked, compared to Snapchat's total head count of 161 million users.
