Slack users rejoice: your favourite app finally has threaded messages.
Say it again?
The new Slack threads appear as conversations in the side panel of the app. They share the space with the existing sequential messages, rather than replacing them.
Slack says this makes it easier to track related messages and manage a larger amount of conversations.
Easy does it
There's also the new 'All Threads' feature, which will keep you up to speed with every current conversation.
It's worth noting that you won't receive a notification on a new thread, unless you're mentioned directly.
Threaded messaging has long been offered by rival messaging services such as Microsoft Teams. The update, long overdue, makes Slack more competitive heading into 2017.
