Three ways to win on Facebook

While Facebook is increasingly becoming a pay to play model, there are still a few ways to increase your chances of making the News Feed cut.

Here are three easy ways to win more engagement – for free.

1. Link to win

Facebook recently changed its News Feed algorithm to favour links over pictures with shortened URLs.

Facebook believes links give users more information about the content they're clicking through to, so to give yourself a head start by making sure your posts are framed around hyperlinks.

2. Follow the leader

Facebook isn't just a megaphone for you to shout about your latest achievements, it's more give and take. Remember that who you follow on Facebook says a lot about your brand.

Make sure you're following industry leaders and don't forget to Like and comment on relevant content. If you really want to go the extra mile you can even add them to an Influencer list.

And if you're lucky they might return the favour.

3. About Me

It's often overlooked, but the About Me section on Facebook is an excellent way of giving new customers a snapshot into your business.

When was the last time you checked your About Me section was up to date? Ensure it's current and lists information such as your business website, contact details and address.
